TraçaFood Solutions, an agri-tech startup based in Agadir, sought to address a major issue in Morocco's agri-food sector: the lack of reliable farm-to-fork traceability. Recurring food scandals and growing demands from European export markets required total transparency on product origin and journey. Local producers, often small-scale farms, had no digital tools to document their practices. Recall times during health alerts could stretch to several weeks, endangering public health. The challenge was to design a system accessible even to producers unfamiliar with technology, while guaranteeing data immutability through blockchain and ensuring continuous cold chain monitoring.

We developed a comprehensive platform combining a mobile application and a web interface. The mobile app, designed with an ultra-simplified interface, allows producers to scan and record every step of the product lifecycle: harvest, packaging, transport, and distribution. Each product receives a unique QR code whose data is recorded on a private blockchain, ensuring the immutability of its history. IoT sensors integrated into transport vehicles continuously monitor temperature and humidity, triggering instant alerts when the cold chain is broken. End consumers can scan a product's QR code to view its entire journey. During health alerts, the system identifies all affected batches and their retail locations within minutes, drastically reducing recall times.
