Mobile payment app and e-wallet with P2P transfers, QR payments, and Bank Al-Maghrib compliance.
PayMa Fintech – Casablanca
7 months
PayMa Fintech, a Casablanca-based fintech startup, aimed to launch a mobile payment application to democratize financial services in Morocco, where a large portion of the population remains unbanked. The challenge was considerable: develop a secure payment infrastructure compliant with strict Bank Al-Maghrib requirements, while creating a user experience simple enough to be adopted by people unfamiliar with digital tools. Transaction security had to be flawless to earn the trust of users and regulators, and the system needed to handle massive transaction volumes with near-total availability.
We developed a high-security mobile application with biometric authentication (fingerprint and facial recognition), end-to-end encryption, and payment data tokenization. The P2P transfer system allows instant money transfers via phone number, even to unregistered users. QR code payments, deployed at partner merchants, offer a fast alternative to card payments. An AI-powered fraud detection engine analyzes each transaction in real time. The distributed architecture across multiple data centers ensures 99.99% availability. Comprehensive regulatory support enabled obtaining Bank Al-Maghrib approval on schedule.
